The Festival Guide 2009
First publication produced with British American Group, this 366 page publication was solely created from scratch. Working alongside the Editor-in-Chief for editorial content, liaising with our sales team to control incoming client advert and advertorial artwork, with commissioned illustrations for a number of character illustrations to be included throughout various sections of the publication. This project was completed following the run-up to the popular summer months of UK festivals being hosted.
Using the visual theme of ‘The Great Outdoors’, this publication appealed to the everyday 18 – 25 year old festival-goer comprising of numerous music celebrity interviews, fashion, music, a directory of summer months festivals throughout the UK, Europe and International level, with important topical information for the festival goer.
Being distinctive in its image, this guide had to be aesthetically pleasing for the mass young audience, while being visually strong, experimental and unrestrictive through it use of imagery, colour, typography and layout.
The front cover included the use of a Pantone neon orange colour area, spot UV area treatments, with the guide being complemented with a Festival Guide print branded plastic rain poncho and set of male contraceptives, all packaged inclusively in a Festival Guide print branded water-resistant plastic substrate self-adhesive sleeve.
The Festival Guide 2009 was distributed at numerous UK festivals and retailed in selected high-street outlets throughout the UK.
