The Gap Travel Guide 2010

Opportunity

The Gap Travel Guide made its debut in early 2010 adding to the collection of three other established publications under British American Group’s portfolio.

As a brand new publication, this required a distinctive look from the other publications in having an aspirational and travel-orientated focus through the use of strong photographic travel photography. For the 18 – 25 year old target audience, the guide took an informative approach for those seeking to take a gap year out of higher education studies.

Approach

The publication included the feature of a double-sided tip-in pullout poster. Sized at 590 x 229mm, equally folded in four parts, attached to the centre of the guide, with a 10mm micro-perforated edge at the gutter of the guide allowing ease of detachment, it had a dual function of being a write-on calendar sheet on one side, and a world map with a planner on the reverse.

Experience

The 246 page travel guide included a directory of vital information for popular countries within the various continents around the world, celebrity interviews, travel features, with essential information on worldwide travel.

The Gap Travel Guide 2010 was retailed in selected high-street outlets throughout the UK.
