Long Live The New Flesh

Opportunity

An experimental motion graphics piece submitted for my Post Graduate Diploma stage of my Masters Degree studies at University of the Arts London (UAL), Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London.

Approach

An initial exploration in integrating flash animation, illustrative graphics, self-generated video footage and audio narration into a four minute ‘low-tech’ retro style motion graphics piece put together using After Effects.

The subject matter is based on the idea of the British meat industry featuring some of its controversial practices, from farmyard to meat factories for profit. Dually running alongside this subject topic are visual parallels to the conditioning of the human in the world of today.

Experience

The main intent and message from this work is to explain and illustrate the direct relationship and references between animals for the slaughter with the conditional life of the human being.
