The Student Guide 2011
Opportunity
For the 2011 installment of The Student Guide, as Art Director alongside my Design team, a new direction was approached for a total rebrand to the family of the publications under British America Group. The Student Guide being the most recognised entity kickstarted the rebrand campaign.
Approach
The rebrand process focused on looking at the inspirational, aspirational and emotive elements for each brand publication within the family, iterative logo development, with layout and colour treatments, to which all being contained within definitive brand guidelines.
In order to maintain visual excitement with references to the haphazard nature of student life, the content was split between four definitive sections, where the design treatment for each section reflected this. The underpinning elements associated with each section would be commonality between typographical and imagery treatments with colour-coded usage.
Experience
The Student Guide 2011 remained to be my final art directed project at British American Group. The publication was retailed within selected high-street outlets throughout the UK, with WHSmith and Tesco being among some of the major retailers.
